Day01. Arrival Beijing
Arrive in Beijing. Transfer to hotel. Enjoy a welcoming Peking duck dinner.
Day02. Beijing / Lanzhou
Transfer to airport for flight to Lanzhou. Drive to Xiahe via Linxia. We stay in Xiahe.
Day03. Lanzhou / Xiahe
Visit Labrang Monastery, one of the leading Yellow sect monasteries, well known as a great monastic university. Pilgrims from all over Amdo visit this monastery. In afternoon, visit the local Tibetan marketplace. Stay at same hotel.
Day04. Xiahe / Yamazhaxiqi Monastery
Hike for about 4-5 hours through grasslands and low, forested hills to Yamazhaxiqi Monastery. This is a red sect monastery located on a hill surrounded by forests. Visit the monastery and stay for the night at the monastery.
Day05. Yamazhaxiqi Monastery / Tongren
Hike for about 4-5 hours through lovely pastoral scenery and many small traditional villages. Stop in some of the villages to visit the locals along the way. Visit Shuangpengxi Monastery, a pre-Buddhist Bon religion monastery. Continue hiking into Tongren, the most influential center of Tibetan Buddhist Arts, famous for its Thangka Painting, Clay Sculptures, and Appliqu¨¦. Visit Wutun Monastery, which regarded as Regong Arts School. View the incredible Thangkas throughout the monastery and visit the home of a Thangka painter to experience an artist at work. We stay in Tongren.
Day06. Tongren / Jianzha
Hike for about 4-5 hours following the Yellow River Gorge to Jianzha. Along the way, you will visit Lhamo Dechen Monastery, which is located at the top of a small hill. We stay in Jianzha.
Day07. Jianzha / Aqing Nangzong Monastery
Hike for about 4-5 hours going into Kangbala National Natural Forest Park. Enjoy the scenery of red mountains, green forests, and strange stone pillars edging the Yellow River Valley. Cross the Yellow River on a primitive raft. Visit Aqing Nangzong Nunnery (Red sect) well known for its long history and many nuns in residence. Stay at the nunnery for the night.
Day08. Aqing Nangzong Monastery / Xiazong Monastery
Hike for about 4-5 hours through grasslands and countryside to Xiazong Monastery. Beautiful forests surrounded this Yellow sect monastery. We will camp for the night in the forest near the monastery.
Day09. Xiazong Monastery / Xining
Hike for about 4-5 hours through more grasslands and countryside to Xining. Enjoy a traditional Tibetan farewell banquet and a Tibetan singing and dancing performance. We stay in Xining.
Day10. Xining / Beijing
Transfer to airport for flight to Beijing. Transfer to hotel. Visit the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and the Temple of Heaven. Enjoy a farewell Peking duck dinner.
Day11. Beijing Exit
Transfer to airport for international departure flight.
